Saber’s Masterpiece Gone Forever
Posted by: Flat Black in Art, Artists
SABER‘s been a graff writer I’ve looked up to for years now and this epic master piece of his is definitely one for legend. LA has taken it upon themselves to cover up this among others in the LA river. I know a lot of people are pretty upset about this. Graff writers and civilains alike, being they pasted $800,000+ to go towards covering up graffiti in the LA counties when teachers are getting laid off and classes are being cut. Why not use the money for better use by helping people then covering up street art?
I think this is a personal attack on Saber. In the last couple of years he’s gone from a ghost to in your face, on zine covers, getting features in major articles, and has come out full steam ahead. I really think the city can’t touch him for legal reasons so why not mess with one of his best achievements. Get me? It’s pretty tragic when you think about it. This was such a big part of graffiti history in American, in the world for that matter…
R.I.P. Gigantic LA River Saber Piece!
Here’s one of those zine features I was talking about. Check out BLISSS for the full article.
