Artifakts All Female Art Show

I am very excited for this upcoming show on Dec 30th at Electric Tea Garden. We have a great lineup of artists and the legendary NAHA will be headlining the music set from 1-2am.

Once a year we put on an all female art show where all the artists are female. We do this to support women in the arts and these events are always awesome! So come out and join us for an amazing night!!

Last Saturday was an epic win for Tacoma! We had Mad Rad, Champagne Champagne, City Hall, & DJ Hanibal perform and they were awesome! The night was filled with good music and good vibes. Also, artwork by Jeremy Gregory, James Tucker, Liana Blair & Rob Ripley filled the upstairs level of Jazzbones. We would like to thank all the performers and our fans for coming out and making the night a great success. Capitol Hill Artwalk top 10 Photos

As many of you know, last Thursday we had our 1st Artifakt Artwalk on Capitol Hill. The event was AMAZING! Lots of good people and awesome artwork. The overall vibe for the night was great too. We would like to thank each and every person that made the trip up the 3 flights of stairs to join us at The Loft.

It’s Zombie Time!!

So there is a zombie walk in Queen Anne, or more specifically the Space Needle this Friday. I am hoping to make it there in time with my camera to get some dope shots! I have a feeling that this is gonna be AWESOME!!

The Zombie Walk
When: Gather at 4:30pm, Walk at 5:00pm October 30th
Where: Grass Field next to the Space Needle
Cost: FREE
What: A Zombie Season would not be complete without the Big Zombie Walk, over the years we have gathered by the hundreds, pretending to be rotting zombies and having a zombie good time. The Seattle Center and ZomBcon will be filled zombies shuffling around along with thousands of fans and dozens of celebrities. What a way to set the theme of the weekend!
Why: Because there is no other experience to describe the thrill of a zombie walk, the smiles and double takes from surprised witnesses are priceless.

There is a great arts magazine in the Pacific Northwest. The magazine in question is called City Arts. City Arts prints editions in Tacoma, Seattle and the Eastside. One cool thing about City Arts is that they love artists to contribute to the magazine. One good way to get potentially published in City Arts is to submit to their group pool on Flickr. City Arts group pool is called City Arts’ Around Town and all you need to do is sign up for Flickr, join the group, click here, and start uploading photos. City Arts publishes photos from this pool on the CAB–City Arts Blog–twice a week. And City Arts also puts some photos into print editions of their magazine. So get out there, shoot some cool shots and upload those photos!

Chirs Sheridan’s Upper Playground Opening – Follow Up

Last Friday I went to the opening for Chris Sheridans “Fondue” show at Upper Playground in the U-District. The show was a lot of fun. I really like Chris’ new artwork featuring studies with skeletons. There were several paintings that blew me away, but I think that my favorite one is titled “The Trickster and the Guide (Thought & Memory)”. Another of my favoite painting of the evening is titled “Of the Magdalene Him & the Upper Eastside”. To me, those two paintings are cool to look at because in one the woman is interacting with the skeleton, and in the other painting the skeleton is controlling the person. I also like how Chris incorporates his trademark crows into several of the pieces. There were 3 other pieces that caught my eye as well; these pieces were 3 smaller portraits that had human bodies with animal heads. I think that the bodies and animal heads work well and would like to see more paintings in that style. Another nice surprise that there was actual cheese fondue with bread, apples and vegetables for everyone to eat. I had a good time eating, drinking and just hanging out with the other patrons. All in all, Friday was an awesome night for art…so if you missed the opening you can still go check it out. Plus Upper Playground has some dope gear. Check out my photos below!
